MRS. HODAM DIES, RITES SET FOR TUESDAY AT FUNERAL HOME

Mrs. Leah Ethel Hodam, 68, died Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Hawarden hospital after an illness of one year.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Mauer Funeral chapel. The Rev. M.L. Straube will conduct the services. Burial will be in the LeMars City Cemetery. The LeMars Order of Eastern Star will conduct the ritualistic graveside service.

Mrs. Leah Abercrombie Hodam was born Feb. 29, 1884, in Coburg, Ontario, Canada. She was married March 22, 1916, in Chicago, Ill., to Dr. William F. Hodam. They came to LeMars in 1916 and have lived here since that time.

She was a past worthy matron of the LeMars Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Evangelical and Reformed church and guild, also of the Friday club. She was active in many civic organizations and other clubs.

Surviving besides the husband is one son, William Hodam Jr., and two grandsons, Frederick and David Hodam, all of Aurelia. Two sisters, Mrs. William Brown, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and Mrs. Ruby Smith, Brookline, Mass. Also two brothers, William Abercrombie, Stoneham, Mass., and Harold V. Abercrombie, Silver Springs, Md.

Mauer funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
