Paul Douglas "Buzz" Dandurand, 69, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, formerly of Le Mars, began a new life with Christ on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Mount Carmel East Hospital surrounded by loving family and friends.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. today (Friday) at Church of the Resurrection in New Albany, Ohio, with the Rev. Jerome Rodenfels officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation was from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a time of sharing memories at 8 p.m., at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel in Ghanna, Ohio.

Paul “Buzz” Douglas Dandurand, 69, began a new life with Christ on October 21, 2008 at Mt. Carmel East surrounded by loving family and friends.

Survived by his wife of 45 years, Camille; Son Douglas (Amy), daughters Deborah Vaught (Dan), and Nancy Rich (Randy); grandchildren, Joshua (Jessica), Abby and Alexandra Dandurand; Amanda, Jared and Lindsay Vaught; Kenneth, Joseph, and Emily Rich. Preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Jean Dandurand and sister Marilyn Whittington.

Born October 3, 1939, in Le Mars, Iowa, Paul attended Iowa State University and graduated from Arizona State University. He was employed locally by Gilbert Shoes, The Limited, and Kobackers. Following his retirement from United Health Care, he enjoyed family, parish service, travel, beach trips and “general retirement activities.”

During Paul’s life in Reynoldsburg, he was active in St. Pius X Parish, Christ Renews His Parish, Boy Scouts, Cursillo/Cum Christo, Kairos Prison Ministry, Church of the Resurrection, Knights of Columbus and ROMEOS.

Family will receive friends at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel located at 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, Ohio on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A special time for sharing memories will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 Dublin Granville Rd., New Albany, Ohio, 43054 on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 11:30 a.m., Father Jerome Rodenfels Celebrant. Visitation that morning will be held in the Day Chapel from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be to Church of the Resurrection in his memory.
