Anton Satori leading druggist and prominent pioneer in Le Mars answered the final summons on Saturday morning. His death came as a shock to the community where he was widely known. Few persons were aware that he was sick, not to say in a dangerous condition. His death follows an illness of pneumonia of 5 days duration. He was downtown to his place of business on Monday, prior to his death and went home that evening suffering to a cold which developed serious complications. A friend called in to see him on Saturday morning between 8 and 9 and Mr. Satori conversed with him and said he was feeling better and appeared most cheerful. A few minutes later Mr. Satori told his wife he did not feel so well, she sent to the bedside to adjust his pillow and while supporting him in her arms, he suddenly expired.

When a boy of 14 he came to the United States with a sister, he worked at his occupation as d druggist in Philadelphia, Cincinnati and then came west locating in Cedar Falls, Iowa. In 1881, seeking a location in which to establish a business, he selected Le Mars, a town enjoying a healthy boom at that time and concluded to locate here and made arrangements to buy out the drug firm of Vogt Brothers. And in March 1882 permanently settled here. He bought the building now occupied by the Boyce Store and was engaged in business with the late Frank Miller under the firm name of Satori Miller Company. Later the firm of Satori and Pfeiffer. Mr. Satori, a little later bought out his partner, H. J. Pfeiffer and conducted the business alone for many years until his son grew up and the firm became known as the Satori Drug Company. In 1889 the business was moved to its present location.
Mr. Satori took an active interest in the business up to the time of his last illness, although during the past two or three years, he had allowed himself of more freedom from his store than in former years, when he devoted himself often at night as well as days.
Mr. Satori was united in marriage on April 12, 1882 with Miss Kate Mullarky at Cedar Falls, a member of one of the Pioneer families of Black Hawk County. He was a progressive citizen and a factor in the early days of community affairs which materially helped the betterment of the conditions, and saw Le Mars grow from a hamlet to a thriving little city, one of the best known in Northwest Iowa.
