EMIL SCHOENROCK

HAWARDEN, Iowa—Emil Frank Schoenrock, 91, of Hawarden died unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1995, at his residence.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the American Lutheran Church in Hawarden with Pastor Loren Vogler officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mr. Schoenrock was born April 25, 1904, in LeMars, the son of Herman and Amanda (Utech) Schoenrock. He attended school in LeMars. He married Ellen Durr Feb. 6, 1929, in LeMars. The couple farmed near LeMars and moved to Hawarden in 1932. He was known for the popcorn business he operated for several years and house painting in the Hawarden area. The couple sold popcorn on Hawarden’s main street for more than 50 years. He devoted his time to gardening in later years.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Garlan and his wife, Sandy, of Victoria, Kan., Gary and his wife, Holly, of Atlantic and Dennis of Hawarden; a daughter, Elaine and her husband, Don Kerr, of Laramie, Wyo.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
