KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Francis Woodrow Schweitzberger, 88, of Kingsley died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kingsley Untied Methodist Church. There will be no visitation. Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Schweitzberger was born June 14, 1913, in Kingsley, the son of William and Sarah (Rice) Schweitzberger. He attended country school in the Kingsley area. Following his education, he assisted his family with farming. In 1937 his father passed away, and he and his brothers took over the farming operation.
On July 28, 1955, Francis and Annola Fletcher were united in marriage at Kingsley. The couple made their home on a farm south of Kingsley. He lived his entire life in the Kingsley area, but he and Annola traveled extensively. They visited 87 foreign countries and all of the United States.
Francis will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Annola of Kingsley; three brothers, Ernest and his wife, Thelma, Ralph, and Kenneth and his wife, Minnetta, all of Kingsley; five sisters, Fern Johnson of Perry, Iowa, Pearl Nagel of Washougal, Wash., Marvel Nagel and her husband, Roy of Sequim, Wash., and Violet Keller of California City, Calif., and Viola Kramer of Kingsley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Walter and Harold.
