Clara M. Buehler, 89, of Wakonda, S.D., died Saturday (Feb. 20, 1988) in a nursing home in Wakonda.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wakonda Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Kroger officiating. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hansen Funeral Home at Irene, S.D.

Miss Buehler was born Aug. 12, 1898, on a farm north of Le Mars. She attended Morningside College in Sioux City and received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Iowa.

She taught in the Sioux City school system until her retirement. She lived at Wesley Acres Retirement Center at Mitchell for 12 years and had been a resident of Heritage Manor at Wakonda the last year.

Miss Buehler was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Methodist Church at Sioux City where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was a member of the Wesleyan Guild.

She held a life membership in the Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of Alpha Delt Kappa Sorority and AAUW and was formerly active in the United Methodist Church at Mitchell. She did volunteer work for the Methodist Auxiliary Friends of the Middle Border Museum.

She was a present member of Wakonda Methodist Church.

Survivors are 16 nieces and nephews, including Harriet Woodward of White River, Muriel Fillmore of Deadwood and Warren Kuhler of Wakonda.
