HERMAN H. STEEMKE
Herman H. Steemke, 70, 17 First Avenue NE., died Christmas Day at Sacred Heart hospital after having been in failing health for several years.
Mr. Steemke was born in Steinborn, Germany, April 11, 1874, and was aged 70 years, 8 months, and 14 days. He came to the United States as a boy and farmed in Cherokee county until he came to LeMars in 1936. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Heinrich Steemke. He was married to Mary Crippen, who died in August, 1920. Two daughters were born of this union, Mrs. Don Dazey, of Middletown, Ohio, and Alice of LeMars. He is also survived by one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held in Cherokee at 2 p.m. Thursday and burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. L.L. Belk of St. John's Lutheran Church, LeMars, officiating.
Wiltgen’s are in charge of the funeral.
