Simon Pelroy, 62, a resident of Plymouth and Union counties all his life, died May 12 in a Sioux City hospital, after an illness of several years.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pelroy, he was born Sept. 26, 1888, in Plymouth county, Iowa. In 1909 he married Miss Pauline Frederickson of Akron, in Sioux City. They moved to Elk Point in 1929 and he had since resided there.

Survivors are a son Simon Theodore, Jr. of Denver, Colo.: two daughters, Mrs. Darlene Erickson and Mrs. Maxine Lanning, both of Elk Point; a brother. Fred, of Sioux City: two sisters. Mrs. Tillie Warren, of Elk Point, and Mrs. Ida Warren, of Sioux City: two half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Welch, of Westfield, and Mrs. Katherine Montagne, of Elk Point, and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Peters’ Catholic church at Jefferson, S. D., Rev. Fr. John Brady officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph’s cemetery at Elk Point.
