Charlie S. Rowe, 79, Dies, Services Set At Plymouth Church

Funeral services for Charlie J. Rowe, 79, who died at his home at 3O9 First Avenue southeast Thursday, Jan 17, after a three year illness; will be held at the P1ymouth Presbyterian church Sunday, Jan 20 at 2:30 p.m.

Officiating will be the Rev. Robert Rushing and the Rev Allen Bowe. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Mauer’s funeral home.

Mr. Rowe was born Nov 18, 1872, in Platteville, Wis., and came to Plymouth county when he was 15.
He retired from farming and moved to LeMars in 1929. He was a member of the Woodman of the World.

His marriage to Hilda J. Erickson took place May 12, 1897, in Grant township. The couple were married, by the late Rev. A. Z. McGogney.

Surviving are his wife, Hilda and three daughters and two sons; Mrs. Earl (Mable) Love. Harlen J Rowe, Mrs. Henry (Eda) Eilks and Foster Rowe all of LeMars and Mrs. Bertsel (Ethel) Brown of Merrill.

Also surviving are three grandchildren; Mrs. Bill Timmins of Des Moines, Dean A. Rowe of San Antonio, Tex., and Mrs. Willis Harms of LeMars, and one great-grandchild, Gloria Lynn Harms of LeMars.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
