AGNES JOHNSON

Miss Agnes Linnea Johnson of 121 2nd Street Northeast, LeMars, passed away December 6, 1959, following a sickness which lasted four months. She had been hospitalized for two months.

Miss Johnson was born January 13, 1909, near Marcus, and was recently the vocational homemaking teacher in Onawa. She taught before that for six years at Buffalo Center and at Harlan, Iowa. She lived in the Marcus vicinity until graduating from high school. She attended Iowa State Teachers College for two years and was versity (sic) and did graduate work at Colorado State University.

Miss Johnson was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the American Association of University Women; the Business and Home Economics Association, State and National Teachers Association, both State and National. Her parents were Elin and Emil Johnson.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 9, at St. John's American Lutheran Church with Rev. L.L. Belk officiating, assisted by her brother, Rev. George Johnson. Burial will be in Amherst Cemetery near Marcus.

Mauer’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include brothers and sisters, Miss Edith Johnson, homemaking teacher at LeMars Community Schools; Earl and Robert Johnson of Marcus; Rev. George Johnson of Alexandria, Minnesota; Mrs. Dale (Esther) Bruner, Muncie, Indiana; an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson of Marcus and a number of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ethel, in infancy.
