PARENTS: ..the daughter of Laura Roan. As a young child, she was raised by Blanche and Elbert Tooker.

OCCUPATION: The couple lived in Leeds until 1941, when they moved to Hinton. She began her career in the newspaper business with the Hinton Progress in 1957, working with her husband, who was the publisher. She continued to publish the paper until her health caused her to retire in 1991. She was also a part-time clerk at the Hinton Post Office from 1970 to 1988. She had been a resident of the Indian Hills Care Center since January 1992.
SURVIVORS: …include a daughter, Kathy Nurnberg of Hinton; a brother and his wife, Stanley and Dottie Roan of Sioux City; and 11 nieces and nephews.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: …her husband; a brother, Robert Roan; and a son, Robert C. Nurnberg
