Mildred N. Holler

CHEROKEE, Iowa -- Mildred N. Holler, 83, of Cherokee passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at Countryside Estates in Cherokee following a brief illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, with the Rev. Richard Arndt officiating. Burial will be in Sunset View Cemetery, Washta, Iowa. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee.

Mildred was born Nov. 10, 1919, in Remsen, Iowa, to James and Nettie (Archer) Wilson. She graduated from high school in 1937.

She was married to Alvin G. Holler on Oct. 4, 1940, in Cushing, Iowa. She was a charge nurse at Cherokee Mental Health Institute for several years, retiring in 1981. She had been a resident of Cherokee for most of her life.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed doing embroidery and collecting recipes.

She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Carmen and Richard Richter of Cherokee; two grandchildren, Paul James Richter and his wife, Breanne of Calumet, Iowa, and Jennifer Reena Richter of Cherokee; a great-grandson, Adam Thomas Richter; and a brother and his wife, Stewart and Jeanette Wilson of Cherokee.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Judith Marie.
