MERLIN DREESZEN

LE MARS, Iowa—Special: Merlin Dreeszen, 58, musician widely known in Northwest Iowa, died at his home here Sunday morning after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Schroeder Funeral Home. The Rev. David J. Roy will officiate. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Graveside rites will be conducted by Hoschler Post, American Legion.

Mr. Dreeszen was born March 6, 1909, near Westfield, Iowa, and was a lifetime resident of the Westfield, Sioux City and Akron areas. He never married. At one time he was a member of the Lawrence Welk Orchestra. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include four brothers, Bryan of Westfield, Archer of Merrill, Iowa, and Tom and Roy, both of Akron; and a sister, Mrs. Russell Embick of Concord, Calif.
