Dorothy I. Mount, 81, of Sioux City died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mount was born Oct. 6, 1920, in Westfield, Iowa, the daughter of John and Louise (Onnen) Amundsen. She attended school in Westfield.

She married Manuel S. Mount on Oct. 24, 1942, in South Sioux City. The couple came to Sioux City in 1944, where she was a homemaker and worked part time as a salesperson at J.C. Penney.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church. Her interests included gardening, sewing, reading and playing the piano.

Survivors include her husband of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Timothy and Rose Mount of Martinez, Calif.; a daughter, Dianne Mount of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Susan Mount of Manteca, Calif.; three grandchildren, Lori and Jeremy Mount of Pittsburg, Calif., Christine Mount of Camarillo, Calif., and Sara and Berry Worden of Manteca, Calif.; a great-grandson, Cody of Pittsburg, Calif.; a sister and her husband, Margaret and Ralph of San Francisco, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gary; four brothers, Oscar, Clarence, Edward and Ralph; and a sister, Louella.
