HINTON, Iowa -- Minnie Carrie Hansen, 91, of Hinton died Friday, June 11, 2004, at a Sioux City hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on June 6, 2004.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Nathan C. Houfek of Our Savior's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, following a luncheon at the church. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.

Minnie Carrie Hansen was born Feb. 12, 1913, in rural Hinton, the daughter of Oliver Edward and Gea Olina (Engan) Bonnes. She graduated from Central High School in June of 1931.

She married Ejnar Garland Hansen on May 17, 1935 in Sioux City. Mr. Hansen died Sept. 9, 1988 in Hinton. Minnie lived in rural Hinton her entire life. She taught school from 1931 to 1935.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, helped serve 49ers and was a member of Deborah Circle as well as Friendship Club, Senior Citizens, Birthday Club, and also several card clubs. She enjoyed having coffee with her friends. More than a mother and a grandmother, she was a true friend.

Survivors include a son, Gene Hansen and his wife, Mary of Sioux City; a grandson, Rick Hansen and his wife, Patty of Hinton; a granddaughter, Kristen Hansen of Lincoln, Neb.; two great-granddaughters, Keri and Kayla Hansen, both of Hinton; a brother, Robert Bonnes and his wife, Colleen of Sioux City; and a sister, Pearl (Bonnes) Miller of Le Mars, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren and Oral Bonnes.

Pallbearers will be Barry Hageman, Bruce Hageman, Brent Beaulieu, Bob Bridget, Tim Pridie and Jim Miller.
