REMSEN, Iowa -- Jana Guttner, 82, of Remsen died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Remsen, with the Rev. Craig Miller officiating. Burial will be in Remsen City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen. Visitation will resume at 9 a.m. Wednesday and continue until service time at the church.

Jana was born March 17, 1920, in rural Whiting, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Olsen) Hall. She was raised and educated in the Whiting area. She married Elmer Guttner on Jan. 11, 1939, in Sioux City. They made their home near Remsen, where they were engaged in farming. Elmer died Feb. 10, 1980, and later that year she moved into Remsen.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Martha's Circle.

Survivors include two sons-in-law, Donald Fulton of Le Mars, Iowa, and Larry Hinken of Sheldon, Iowa; four granddaughters, Kay and her husband, Terry Moseley of Traskwood, Ark., Kim and her husband, Charles Lambirth of Sheldon, Iowa, Pam Hinken of Sheldon, and Beverly Hinken of Sheldon; six great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; a great-great-stepgranddaughter; and two sisters, Marjorie Pas of Sioux City, and Carol Hoppock of Rockford, Ill.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Martha Mae Fulton and Mary Ellen Hinken; and a brother, Harold "Bud" Hall.

Casket bearers will be Steve Hall, Donald, Richard and Steve Gettner, Jamie Hinken and Charles Lambirth.
