SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 2nd MARRIAGE:
OCCUPATION: He served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in the South Pacific on a landing craft for four years. He taught school in Hawkeye, Iowa, for three years, then in Popejoy and Alden, Iowa. The couple moved to Akron in 1974. He taught school for 35 years before retiring in 1987.
SURVIVORS: include his wife; three sons; a daughter; six grandchildren; his mother, Martha Canfield of Hill City, S.D.; and a sister, Peggy Cummings of Hill City.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: his father and a son, Steven.
PLACE of BURIAL: Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, S.D.
