CAUSE OF DEATH: following a brief illness
DATE of DEATH: Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999
PLACE of DEATH: at St. Joseph Hospital, Omaha, Nebr.
DATE of BIRTH: March 7, 1911
PLACE of BIRTH: in Akron, Iowa
PARENTS: son of Frank and Minnie Kerr
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 1st MARRIAGE: Zora Mae Schall, in September 1935.
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 2nd MARRIAGE:
OCCUPATION: The couple made their home in Sioux City, where he was employed with Swift Packing Co. He served in the U.S. Army as an infantry supply officer in Europe during World War II, achieving the rank of major. He served in the Army Reserves until 1971. After the war they moved to the farm in Union County, where he farmed. He was employed as an assistant county agricultural extension agent for Union County for several years and than as a water resource specialist for the State of South Dakota. He retired in 1976. She died in January 1999.
SURVIVORS: include a daughter and her husband, Nancy and Bob Adams of Kansas City, Mo.; a son and his wife, Gary and Karren of Omaha; three grandchildren; and a step granddaughter.
