Sharon L. Waterbury, 67, of Akron, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at her residence in Akron.
Sharon Lee Waterbury was born Feb. 2, 1941, in Ute, the daughter of Russell and Helen (Boysen) Kisling. She was raised in the Hawarden area where she attended school graduated from Hawarden High School.
She was united in marriage to Floyd "Junior" Waterbury on May 10, 1958 in Fremont, Neb. Early in their marriage, Sharon traveled with her husband during his tenure in road construction. In 1965, they settled in Akron. Sharon worked as an aide for the Akron Hospital and later for the Akron Care Center. She provided babysitting for many children in the Akron area.
Sharon enjoyed quilting, cooking, and "surfing" on EBay. She also enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching. She loved animals, especially her dogs. But most of all, she loved the times spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of more than 50 years, Junior of Akron; her four children: Russell Waterbury and his wife Lacey of Belle Fourche, S.D., Randy Waterbury and his wife Joanne of Akron, Sam Waterbury and his special friend Macrina Searls of Akron, and Kimberly Hamblen and her husband Terry of Sioux City; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson: Tayler Hanno in 1998.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Akron. The Rev. Jean Morse will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitations will be after 3 p.m. Thursday with the family present after 6 p.m., all at Carlsen Funeral Home - Schroeder Chapel in Akron.
