PARENTS: son of William F. and Anne (Mairose) Kellen
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 1st MARRIAGE: Gaile Weiler, Aug. 21, 1943, Muskogee, Okla.
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 2nd MARRIAGE:
OCCUPATION: He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He landed at Omaha Beach with the D-Day Invasion and fought in the Ardennes Forrest Battle and the Battle of the Bulge. His awards and decorations include Silver Star Medal and Meritorious Unit Award. Following his discharge, the couple lived in Dubuque, Iowa, where he was employed with John Deere. In 1952, they moved to Remsen, where he was employed with Rusco Window Co. and Kellen Produce. He was later employed with Harkers in Orange City, Iowa, retiring in 1984. She died July 24, 1987.
SURVIVORS: include three daughters, Charlene and her husband, Fran Reckinger of St. Paul, Minn., Jane and her husband, Conrad Heider of Sioux City, and Rosanne Kellen of Des Moines; two sons and their wives, Jeff and Mary of Flemington, N.J., and Bill and Connie of Omaha, Neb.; 13 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Wanderscheid of Remsen; and fours sisters-in-law, Marie and Marian Kellen, both of Remsen, Helen Kellen of Alton and Lavonne Kellen of Conroe, Texas.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: his parents; five brothers, William Jr in infancy, Stanley, Ray, Vernon, and Victor; and five sisters, Florence Henrich, Lillian Gengler, Evelyn Harmon, Frances Wess and Esther Bohlke Gaffey.
PLACE of BURIAL: St. Mary’s Cemetery, Remsen, Iowa
