Eldon E Oliver, 75, Le Mars died on Saturday, Dec. 22, 1990, at the Floyd Valley Hospital, Le Mars.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 27, at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Kenneth Royar in the Calvary United Methodist Church, Le Mars.

Internment will be in the West Fork Cemetery, Clibing Hill. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, with the family present.

Mr. Oliver was born Feb. 9, 1915 in Marietta, Ill to Joseph and Jessie (Brown ) Oliver. On Dec. 23, 1939, he was married to Ellen Turner in Moville.

Mr. Oliver established the Oliver Welding shop in Le Mars in 1945 and operated it until striken by illness in 1982. He was an active member of the Stanton Evangelical United Brethern Church of rural Merrill from 1945 to 1957. Since that time has been an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Le Mars. He was a member of the United Methodist Men's Club and served on church committees. Mr. Oliver spent his entire life as a welder and working with ornamental iron. He also leaves a number of art pieces as a result of his study in the art department at the University of Oklahoma.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Oliver, Le Mars; two sons, Rev. Richard Oliver and his wife Gwen, Elgin, Ill., and Bill Oliver and his wife, Dee Ann of Anamosa; three brothers, Rev. Dale Oliver and his wife Roberta, Keokuk, Dwight Oliver and wife Doris of Arivada, Colorado, and Edward Oliver of Alixandria, VA; a sister Betty May and her husband Robert of Canton, Ill., two granddaughters, Jenny and Delarie; and three grandsons, John, David and Philip.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
