AKRON, Iowa -- Robert W. Milbrodt, 29, of Akron left this earth to be with Jesus in heaven on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at his home in Akron, following a courageous three year-battle with brain cancer.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Vermillion. Burial will be in Bluff View Cemetery, Vermillion. Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa.
Robert was born on March 27, 1979, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Jeffrey and Diane (Whitead) Milbrodt. He grew up in the Sioux City area. He married Jennifer Jilderda on Jan. 19, 2002, in Vermillion, S.D.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Vermillion. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, playing video games and cooking. His favorite season was winter, when he could go four-wheeling through the snow. He enjoyed reading books and watching TV with Haley and Trenton.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jennifer and children, Haley and Trenton of Akron; his mother, Diane Whitead of Fremont, Neb.; his father, Jeffrey Milbrodt of Indianapolis; a sister, Regina Milbrodt of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a half sister, Amy Milbrodt, of Sioux Falls; two half brothers, Christopher Milbrodt of Colorado, and Casey Hayes of South Sioux City; his grandparents, Duane and Carole Whitead, Wayne and Marilyn Milbrodt of Sioux City, and Gene and Lila Phillips of Indiana; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Wanda Jilderda of Elk Point; S.D., a sister-in-law, Julie Traver and her fiance, Mike Schulnecht of Alcester, S.D.; and a brother-in-law and his wife, Jerry (Cassandra) Jilderda of Helena, Mont.
