IRENE FORBES

Minnie Irene Forbes, 87, of LeMars died Wednesday (Oct. 6, 1982) in a hospital in LeMars after long illness.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Mauer Funeral Home in LeMars. Rev. Leonard Root will officiate. Burial will be in the Kingsley cemetery.

Miss Forbes was born July 6, 1895, in Cherokee county, near Marcus to William and Emily Tanner Forbes. She was a bookkeeper at various places in Kingsley and was a buyer for Pelletiers department store in Sioux City for many years. She moved to Harlan where she operated a beauty shop for 20 years. In the early 1960s, she moved to LeMars to make her home with her sister.

Surviving is one sister, Nina V. Forbes, of LeMars.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Edmond, Dewey and Jay and two sisters, Mae and Mabel.

She was a member of the Methodist church.
