D. MARVIN BURKETT

Funeral services for D. Marvin Burkett, 77, Onawa, will be held Friday at Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa.

Rev. Quentin Quanbeck will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City, under the direction of the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa.

Mr. Burkett, a retired salesman, and former LeMars resident, died March 22, 1982, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

He was born July 17, 1904, at Adaville in Plymouth county, to John and Linda Baker Burkett. He lived in LeMars and Sioux City before moving in 1955 to Onawa.

His marriage to Freda Schilling took place July 8, 1926, at LeMars. He was an active member of the Faith Lutheran Church where he served as deacon and trustee. He was a grand counselor of United Commercial Travelers Lodge of America.

Survivors are his wife, Freda, Onawa; two daughters, Mrs. William (Louette) Page, Fall Brook, Calif., and Mrs. Richard (Diane) Beacon, Huntington Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Kettle, Laguna Beach, Calif., Mrs. Clarissa Reef and Mrs. Velma Mehrens both of Sun City, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
