SAM ZIMMERMAN DIED FEB 18
FUNERAL SERVICES HELD HERE THURSDAY

Sam D. Zimmerman, lifelong resident of Le Mars and vicinity, died at Sacred Heart Hospital on Tuesday, February 18, following a heart attack. Mr. Zimmerman had not been well for the past three and one-half months but death came suddenly.

Deceased, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zimmerman was born at Le Mars on November 1, 1889, and was 57 years, 3 months and 18 days at the time of his death. Except for a period of 18 years of farming the remainder of his life was spent in well and pump repair work.

Mr. Zimmerman was married at Le Mars on April 4, 1916, to Esther E Kalas who with two children, Dale Zimmerman and Mrs. Joyce Nechanicky, both of this city survives him. He is also survived by two brothers, Herb Zimmerman of Remsen, C. H. Zimmerman of Medical Lake, Washington, and one sister, Mrs. Lester Brown of Le Mars. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son-in-law, Leonard Nechanicky who was fatally injured in a plane crash late last fall.

Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at Dale Zimmerman home and 2 o'clock at Hildreth Memorial church with Rev. Harry Kalas, nephew of the deceased, and Rev. H. O. Thompson officiating. Burial was in the city cemetery.
