PLACE of DEATH: at a Sioux City hospital
DATE of BIRTH: Oct. 11, 1925
PLACE of BIRTH: in Germany
PARENTS: daughter of Filipp Szyryj and Maria Kuhajewski
SPOUSE & DATE of MARRIAGE: Emmet Henry, Aug. 29, 1947
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: in Germany, while he was stationed in Germany.
OCCUPATION: The couple made their home in Kingsley. She became a United States citizen in the late 1960s. The operated the Dew Drop Inn in Kingsley from 1960 to 1973. She later worked for various restaurants and did domestic work.
SURVIVORS: include her husband; two daughters and their husbands, Mabel “Hank” and Terry Durr of LeMars and Maria and Dale Bales of Indianola; two sons, Steven and his wife, Denise Henry of Sioux City, and Bill Henry of South Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Olga and Frank Lilawsa of Sedalia, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: her parents; three brothers in Germany and a great-granddaughter.
PLACE of BURIAL: Inurnment (cremains) will be in the Kingsley Cemetery, Kingsley, Iowa.
