PLACE OF MARRIAGE: Akron, Iowa
OCCUPATION: He played football and was a Golden Gloves boxer. He served in the U.S. Army as a radioman in Germany during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He then attended Wayne State College. The couple moved to Akron in 1966, where they worked in the family grocery store. They owned and operated the store from 1974 to 1985. He was employed with Wells Dairy in LeMars, Iowa, from 1986 until retiring in 1997. They owned and operated Wildflower Bed and Breakfast from 1993 to 1998. He also managed the Akron Legion Club in December 1997. He served on the Akron city council from 1979 to 1983 and again in 1987. He also served as mayor of Akron from 1988 to 1991.
SURVIVORS: include his wife; three children; three brothers
