PARENTS: son of Dominick and Catherine (Meyer) Goergen
SPOUSE & DATE of MARRIAGE: Cecilia Muller, Aug. 30, 1937
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: Remsen, Iowa
OCCUPATION: They lived in the Remsen area where he was a farm laborer until moving into Remsen in 1945. He did pump and windmill work for Remsen Lumber Company. In the mid 1960s, he went into carpentry work for himself, retiring in 1993. He had been a resident of Happy Siesta Health Care Center since Nov. 20, 2000.
SURVIVORS: include his wife; six daughters; two sons; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a sister, Justina Schuetz of Sioux City; and a brother and his wife, Edward and Daisy Goergen, of Lebanon, Ore.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: a son, Richard in infancy; three sisters, Mathilda in infancy, Melinda Schemmel and Genoveva Diederich; and two brothers, Hubert in infancy and Julius.
