Gordon C. Hummel, 63, of Westfield, died Monday (Jan. 28, 1980) at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Westfield Congregational church. Rev. Oswald Elbe and Rev. Harold E. Sieglaff will officiate. Burial will be in the Westfield cemetery under direction of the W. Harry Christy funeral home, Sioux City.
Graveside services will be conducted by Emounah Lodge 184 AF&AM of Viborg, S.D.
Mr. Hummel was born Jan. 3, 1917, at Westfield where he was graduated from High School.
He married Margaret A. Anderson Dec. 21, 1936, at Elk Point, S.D. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for 10 years. They lived in Overbrook, Kan., where he was a salesman for Agraproducts, from 1973 until returning to Westfield last September. He served two terms on the Overbrook city council.
He was a member of the Arab Shrine Temple of Topeka, Kan., Emounah lodge 184 AF&AM of Viborg, Order of Eastern Star at Carbondale, Kan., and the Overbrook United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Jo Ann Eden of Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Jim (Janice) Collins of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mrs. Marly (Judy) Gerdes of Hurley, S.D.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Floyd and Thomas, both of Elk Point and Earl of Jefferson, S.D.; three sisters, Mrs. Harold Rosenbaum, Mrs. Robert Rosenbaum and Mrs. Elwood Klapprodt, all of Jefferson.
