HINTON, Iowa -- Barry L. "Lenny" Young, 45, of Hinton died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at a Sioux City Hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Larkin Northside Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Young was born Feb. 7, 1957, in Sioux City, the son of James D. and Donna (Hodgins) Young. He attended Hinton community schools. He was a lifelong resident of Hinton. He was employed as a cook for Highway 75 Cafe, Sioux City Stockyards, Silver Dollar and had been currently working at the Long Branch in Hinton. He had worked for a short time in construction in Colorado.

He was baptized in the Catholic faith and belonged to the Hinton Golf Club. He enjoyed hunting and playing cards.

Survivors include his parents, Jim and Donna Young of Hinton; two brothers and their wives, Edward and Patty Young of Iowa City, Iowa and Terry and Mary Young of Haverhill, Iowa; seven nieces and nephews, Faith, Ben, Heather, Jason, Jacob, Adam and Erica Young; several aunts and uncles and extended family.

Pallbearers will be Norm Thorson, Rodney Blackmore, John Stolze, Bill Kallsen, Marvin Johns and Larry Barkley.
