LEONARD DANIELS, JR.

MERRILL, Iowa—Leonard E. Daniels Jr., 62, of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Merrill, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at a hospital in Henderson.

Graveside services were held in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Boulder City, Nev., with military rites.

Mr. Daniels was born Aug. 12, 1935, near Smithland, Iowa, the son of Leonard E. and Audrey Marie (McDonald) Daniels. He moved with his family to a farm near Merrill in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army as a career soldier, retiring in 1979. He had lived in Henderson for 18 years.

He was a member of the Henderson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3848 and been active in the Boy Scouts and the American Legion.

Survivors include two brothers and their wives, Arvin and Bonnie of Sioux City and Daryl and Donna of South Sioux City; a sister, Debbie Daniels of Merrill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Janet Lindsey and Loretta Not Boelter; two brothers-in-law, Clinton Lindsey and Kenneth Boelter; and a nephew.
