J. Edward Conley, 74, Anthon, father of Dr. John Conley, LeMars, died Wednesday, (March 17, 1976) at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after a brief illness. He was a LeMars native.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon with Rev. J.G. Skahill officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon.

The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Walter Funeral Home in Anthon.

Mr. Conley was born Nov. 17, 1901, in LeMars to John and Emma Enloe Conley. He lived in Le Mars and Kingsley until 1943 when he moved to a farm northwest of Anthon. He retired from farming in 1969.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

His marriage to Elva Mills took place Feb. 6, 1929, at Kingsley.

Survivors are his wife Elva and two sons. Dr. John of LeMars and Donald of Correctionville. There are 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ethel Alger, Kingsley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
