Sharon F. Lehmann, 63 of Merrill, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at her home in Merrill, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Sharon F. Larson was born July 26, 1943, in Wadena, Minn., the oldest daughter of Melvin and Esther (Arens) Larson. As a young child Sharon and her family moved to Iowa. Sharon attended the Merrill and Le Mars school systems. She also attended Stewarts School of Beauty.

On Jan. 17, 1964, Sharon married Clifford "Jake" Lehmann in South Sioux City, Neb. For a short time they lived West of Merrill, then moved into Merrill where they have lived for nearly 40 years. On Nov. 3, 2006, Sharon and Jake renewed their wedding vows and had their marriage blessed by the Catholic Church. Sharon's faith was a very important part of her life.

After her youngest child entered school, Sharon went to work outside of the home being employed at Harker's/Tyson's in Le Mars and for the past 12 years at Wells' Dairy, Inc., until having to leave due to ill health.

Sharon loved to spend time outside sitting on her patio and working in her flower gardens and taking care of her neatly landscaped yard. Her love of landscaping was recognized in Merrill as one of the first "Yard of the Month" awards given by the the city of Merrill.

Sharon loved being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was a great friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Jake of Merrill; her mother, Esther Larson of Le Mars; four children, Jeff and Mary Lehmann of New London, Minn., Cathy and Bruce Tullis of Merrill; Carla and Scott Rieken of Merrill, and Dan and Melissa Lehmann of Merrill; 10 grandchildren: Jacob and Ryan Lehmann, Lindsey Tullis, Lacey Schlesser, Kayla, Kyle, Kourtney, and Kassidy Rieken, Drew and Dylan Lehmann; one great-grandson, Talan Lehmann; two step-grandchildren: Mary and Lisa Tullis; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandi and Jack Grover of Merrill and their children: Tony, Jackie, Craig, and Nick; a special "sister", Barb Crosgrove of Merrill; a special friend Rhonda Klemme of Merrill and by many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father Melvin Larson and a brother Robert in infancy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Merrill, with the Revs. Andrew Sohm and Roger Linann concelebrating. Interment will be in the Assumption Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the family present to greet friends after 5 p.m. followed by a 6:30 p.m. Rosary service and a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Jack Thiesen, Bobby Funck, Matt Lehmann, Tony Grover, Graig Grover, and Nick Grover. Honorary casketbearers will be her grandchildren
