WILLIAM H. CLAASSEN
AKRON, Iowa---William Herman Claassen, 57, of Akron, was found dead Monday, Oct. 9, 1995, at his home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Akron with Monsignor Richard Zenk officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, with a Scripture prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
Mr. Claassen was born Aug. 23, 1938, in Akron, the son of George “Sam” and Ella (Welch) Claassen. He graduated from Akron High School. He was a manger of Quality Control at Coilcraft in Hawarden for the last 40 years, starting when he was 17.
Mr. Claassen was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard for several years.
Survivors include four aunts, Lulu Claassen and Phyllis Kamradt, both of Sioux City, Lucille Welch and Betty Welch, both of Akron; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Vincent, Leo, Steve, Jim, Dennis, and Robert Welch, Gene Waag and Jim Bockelman.
