LEO P. CASSIDY

REMSEN, Iowa---Leo P. Cassidy, 79, of rural Remsen died Sunday, Nov. 19, 1995, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen with the Rev. Craig Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery with military graveside services by the VFW of Remsen. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Moeller Funeral Home in Remsen.

Mr. Cassidy was born June 27, 1916, in Heppner, Ore., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Cassidy. He graduated from St. Dominics Academy in Oregon and attended the University of Oregon. He moved to New York City where he was employed as a draftsman by Stone and Webster Engineering Corp. He served three years in Army Air Force, both overseas and at the Sioux City Air Base. He married Dorothy Bogh Feb. 16, 1947, in Remsen. They farmed north of Remsen until retiring in 1981 and continued to live on the farm.

Mr. Cassidy was a member of the VFW of Remsen, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Remsen, the Farm Bureau, and served as president of the Remsen Cemetery Board for many years.

Survivors include his wife; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Elmer (Myrne) Bogh, of LeMars and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Elmer Bogh.
