LENA CHAMBERLAIN
Le MARS---Lena Andresen Chamberlain, 79, LeMars and formerly of Akron, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1993, at the Brentwood Good Samaritan Home in LeMars after a long illness.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron with the Rev. David Kramer officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Akron. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
Chamberlain was born April 29, 1914, in Akron, the daughter of John and Meta (Onnen) Huls. She grew up in the Akron area.
She married Fred E. Andresen Oct. 11, 1933, in Akron. They farmed in the Akron area until 1974 when they retired and moved to LeMars. He died May 25, 1982. She married Cluett Chamberlain Oct. 5, 1985, in Akron. He died April 7, 1992, and subsequently entered the nursing home in November 1992.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly and her husband, Jerry Nelson, of LeMars; grandson Brian and Curtis, both of LeMars; four other grandchildren, the children of her late son, Eli: Vicki Dimmick, Phoenix, Ariz., Tim Andresen of Jerome, Idaho, Lisa Herbison, and Judy Perea, both of Phoenix; 11 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Donna Hegi of Jerome, Idaho; two brothers, William of Aberdeen, Idaho and Marvin of Moorhead, Minn.; a half-brother, H. Ray Huls, Rock Valley; and two half-sisters: Renna Vanderkooi, Hinton and Pearl Johnson, Rock Valley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a son, Eli; three brothers: Hank, Chris and Johnny; and one sister, Elizabeth O’Connor.
