MR. AND MRS. C. M. FISH VICTIMS OF FLOYD RIVER FLOOD
This community was shocked Tuesday when the news was broadcast that Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Fish had drowned in their home across the Floyd river east of Trinity College at Sioux City (Springdale.) They were former residents of Hinton and their many friends in this vicinity mourn their tragic passing.
Mr. Fish was 81 and Mrs. Fish was 79 years of age.
Double funeral services were held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Nelson Berger funeral home, Rev. Joseph Castle, pastor of Wesley Methodist church in Leeds, officiated and burial was in Memorial Park cemetery at Sioux City.
Pallbearers for Mr. Fish were Raymond Becker, Frank Beguin, Martin Rosburg, Ollie Harrison, Otis Crouch and Frank Richards.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Fish were Neil Brink, Gordon Spies, Grover Schneider, William Spies, Walter Calhoun and Ted Lenderink.
Survivors include 2 sons, Gerald of San Diego, Calif, and Merril of Canton, S.D.; 2 daughters, Mrs. William Brehm of Sioux City and Mrs. Claude McCall of Carroll, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
