DALE FISCHER

Military graveside rites were held Thursday for Dale Jay Fischer, 32, Hinton, who was killed Monday night in a boat launch accident at Spirit Lake.

Services were Thursday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lincoln township. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery, Sioux City. Rev. Arthur Schultz officiated.

Prayer service was held Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Luken-Johnson Funeral Home, in LeMars.

Mr. Fischer, lifelong Plymouth county resident, died Monday evening at Dickinson county memorial hospital, Spirit Lake, following a boating accident on the south shore of Big Spirit. Investigating officers said the Hinton man was pinned between a dock and a pickup truck while a boat was being unloaded at Ainsworth park.

He was born May 3, 1948, in Sioux City to William and Lydia Keuck Fischer. He graduated from Hinton high school and was farming with his brothers in the Hinton area.

Mr. Fischer was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He had served in the army from 1969 through 1971 in Vietnam. He was a member of Casper post 477, American Legion.

Bette Bettsworth and Dale Fischer were married November 29, 1975, at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton.

Survivors are his wife, Bette; a son, Jeremy and a daughter, Carrie; his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
William Fischer and his three brothers, Ronald, Tom, and Gary, all of Hinton; and a sister, Mrs. Tom (Bethene) Ross, Akron.
