R. LEE TAYLOR

R. Lee Taylor, 73, of Hinton, died Friday (Jan. 1, 1988) at LeMars Floyd Valley Hospital.

Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hinton United Methodist Church. Rev. Dale Stone officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation began at 2 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mr. Taylor was born Feb. 8, 1914, at Mabel, Mo., to William and Margie Hutton Taylor. He married Gladys Winter May 3, 1941, in rural Hinton. He had lived in Cameron, Mo., before moving to the Hinton and LeMars area. He was a farmer, retiring in 1975.

He was a member of the Merrill Melbourne United Methodist Church, director of the Farmers Co-op of Hinton for nine years, and a member of the Plymouth County Farm Bureau.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Richard of Brunsville, and Kenneth of LeMars; two brothers, William of Cameron and Roy of Independence, Mo.; three sisters, Blanche Farris of Riverside, Calif., Hazel Crosby of Kansas City, Mo., and Dorothy Hartman of Arkansas City, Kan.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Dean, and three sisters.
