JOHN C. SCHUCHARD
John C. Schuchard, 76, of Remsen 47 years, died Saturday (Dec. 8, 1973) at Floyd Valley Hospital.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Christ Lutheran Church Remsen.
Rev. Donald Wuertz officiated. Burial was in Remsen City cemetery, with Moeller funeral home in charge.
Pieper post of the American Legion conducted military rites at graveside.
Mr. Schuchard was born May 12, 1897, at Lake Benton, Minn. He married Martha Hoeper April 14, 1924, at Flandreau, S.D.
He was a carpenter and mason all his life, retiring in 1957. He was a veteran of World War I.
He was a 5-year member of the American Legion and a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Lavonne) Kelley, Remsen, and Mrs. Edward (Lorenda) Lange, Eugene, Ore.; one son, John E. of Akron; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; six stepchildren, one sister, Mrs. Leo Grubbish of St. Paul, Minn.; and two brothers, William of Remsen and Ernest of Pipestone, Minn.
