STERLING MacKINNON

Sterling MacKinnon, 77, route 2, Akron, a lifelong resident of Plymouth county, died unexpectedly Saturday (Sept. 1, 1973) at Floyd Valley hospital.

He was taken to the hospital that afternoon from the Mike Mullally home by Luken-Johnson ambulance.

Mr. MacKinnon had made his home the last year with the Mike Mullally family in LeMars.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Plymouth Presbyterian church, route 3, Akron, with Rev. James F. Offrink officiating.

Burial will be in Plymouth Presbyterian church cemetery, route 3, Akron, under the direction of the Luken-Johnson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Francis and Wayne Miller, Leonard Molzen, Robert Russell and Daryl and Ralph Taylor.

Mr. MacKinnon had farmed at rural Akron until his retirement. He lived at the Akron hospital for two years until making his home with the Mullally family in LeMars.

He was born Oct. 23, 1895, in Plymouth county, the son of the late Peter and Emma (Gill) MacKinnon. He was never married.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister.
