MRS. ELLA HAUSER

Mrs. Ella B. Hauser, 86, lifelong resident of Merrill, died Sunday (July 22, 1973) at Floyd Valley hospital after a one day stay.

She had resided at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center the last two years. After her husband, Lewis, died in 1968, Mrs. Hauser made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Wallace Hemphill, in LeMars until moving to the center.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Merrill United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Vallery officiating.

Burial will be in Merrill Hillside Cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Ella B. Lindsey was born April 17, 1887, at rural Merrill, the daughter of the late William and Barbara (Casper) Lindsey.

She and Lewis Nicholas Hauser were married Sept. 18, 1907, at rural Merrill. Mr. Hauser was a retired Merrill rural mail carrier. The couple had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1967.

Mrs. Hauser was a member of the Merrill United Methodist Church, Merrill Tuesday club, Royal Neighbors of American and an honorary member of the WDCS of the church.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hauser was preceded in death by a son Orville in 1933.

Survivors are the daughter, Mrs. Wallace (Eileen) Hemphill of LeMars; two grandchildren, Mrs. Edward Downing of LeMars and Merlyn Hemphill of Tacoma, Wash., and six great-grandchildren.
