Clinton Roger Frederick, 52, of Remsen, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, surrounded by his family after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Clinton Roger Frederick was born Sept. 8, 1955, at Wessington Springs, S.D., the son of Raymond and Betty (Schmidt) Frederick. Clinton resided at Alpena, S.D., Ainsworth, Neb., and in 1963 moved with his family to Remsen where he completed his education, graduating from Remsen-Union High School in 1973. He then worked in road construction for several years prior to attending Western Iowa Technical College in Sioux City, where he obtained an associate degree in electronics. He then moved to Schleswig, where he was employed at C. B. Electronics repairing telephones. Several years later he had to retire because of health reasons and returned to Remsen. He then worked part time for the Le Mars Daily Sentinel Newspaper in Le Mars.
Clinton had a special interest in wolves, loved animals, especially his dog Freddy, enjoyed music, especially Steppenwolf and was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Survivors include his life time partner, Sue Ricke of Remsen; two sons, Jesse and his wife Lori Frederick of Nevada, Iowa and Shaun Frederick of Remsen; two brothers and two sisters, Dennis of Ronan, Mont., Kathleen and her husband Peter Scharff, Marlene and her husband Mark Nelson, and Edwin and his special friend Kelli Pottebaum, all of Remsen; a special uncle and aunt, Charles and his wife Romona Schmidt of Hartley; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen with the Rev. Craig Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Thursday, at the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.
