The Rev. Mark W. Abraham, 53, of Fargo, N.D., died Thursday, April 17, 2008.
Mark Walter Abraham was born Aug. 8, 1954, the son of Loren and Norma (Yess) Abraham. He was baptized on Sept. 5, 1954. The Lord joined Mark Abraham and Wanda Linde in holy matrimony on Nov. 11, 1978.
Mark farmed in partnership with his father until the operation was sold. He worked as a machinist and in agri-business for several years.
Mark graduated from Bethany Lutheran College in 1995, Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1999. He vicared at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Mark was ordained at St. John Lutheran Church, Alta, Iowa, in 1999, and served there until 2007 when he accepted the call to Grace Lutheran Church in Fargo, N.D.
Pastor Mark Abraham and his family give thanks to our gracious Lord who has richly blessed them throughout their lives as He nurtures and sustains them in the one true Faith.
Mark is survived by his wife, Wanda (Linde) Abraham; daughter, Renae Abraham, Fargo, N.D.; sons: Todd Abraham, St. Louis Park, Minn., Corey and Christian Abraham, Fargo, N.D.; brothers: Bruce and Sandi Abraham, Avon, Minn., Dennis Abraham, Belle Plaine, Minn., Nick Schroer, Watertown, Minn., and Nowell Schroer, Janesville, Minn.; one granddaughter, Samantha Hinkeldey, Fargo, N.D.; many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and church family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Norma (Yess) Abraham and an infant daughter.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. today (Monday) at Grace Lutheran Church in Fargo. Burial was in Iosco Cemetery in Janesville, Minn. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred, memorials preferred to Concordia Theological Seminary - Student Aid, Fort Wayne, Ind., or to ND District LCMS Church Worker Scholarship Fund.
