BABY DROWNS IN LILY POOL

William Dean Kowalke, 19 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto W. Kowalke, of Sioux City, drowned Monday when he fell into a fish pond in a neighboring back yard.

It was reported the baby had been taken to the basement by Mrs. Kowalke after breakfast and while she was working, crawled up the steps and out of the house. When she missed the child, a search was started and his body was found in the pool.

William Dean was born in Sioux City March 26, 1935.

Many relatives in this vicinity mourn the death of the child.

Funeral services were held Wednesday of this week at 1 p.m. in the home and at 2 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church east of Hinton, with Rev. Holzhausen and Rev. R.J. Torgler officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
