HOWARD A. KRAUSE
Howard A. Krause, 65, 44 24 Tyler St., Sioux City and a native of Hinton, died Friday (Oct. 1, 1982) at Sioux City St. Luke’s Medical Center after a short illness.
Funeral services were held Monday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Sioux City, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Ronald Flentgen officiating.
Burial was at Memorial Park cemetery with the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in charge of arrangements. A prayer service was held Sunday night at the funeral home.
Howard A. Krause was born Sept. 30, 1917, at Hinton to Otto and Rose (Heimgartner) Krause. He lived at Hinton until he was 18 years old. At Hinton he worked for Pioneer Iron works and for the last many years he owned and operated Krause Welding shop at Leeds.
His marriage to Lila Wall took place Nov. 9, 1941.
Mr. Krause was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Sioux City, and during World War II he helped with the construction of the Sioux City Airbase.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Walther, a sister Louise DeRaad and a twin brother and sister, Robert and Lorna, in infancy.
Survivors are his wife of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Sharon) Ufken of LeMars and Mrs. Jeff (Sally) Johnson, Sioux City; three sisters, Marie Franzen of Elkhart, Emilie Wycoff of Storm Lake and Ruth Wooley of Meriden; and four grandchildren, Dianna and Michael Wheeler of LeMars and Holly and Chad Johnson, Sioux City.
