CECIL FLYNN
MARSHALL, Minn. --- Funeral services for Cecil Paul Flynn, former resident of St. Cloud, were Oct. 30, at the Church of the Holy Redeemer. Rev. Henry Christensen assisted by Rev. Arthur Thomas celebrated the Requiem High Mass. Burial was in St. Andrews Cemetery, Granite Falls, Minn.
He was born at Joliet, Ill., Aug. 28, 1904, son of Frank and Ann Jane Feeney Flynn. He married Marjorie Rush at Merrill, Iowa, June 30, 1937. He moved to Sioux City, Iowa, then to St. Cloud and then to Doon, Iowa, where he lived for 10 years. He served on the town council, was president of the school board and a director of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was secretary of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees and a member of the Veterans Association of the Great Northern Railway.
While in St. Cloud, he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lodge 622, and the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1400.
Mr. Flynn was employed by the Great Northern Railway most of his life. He moved to Marshall four years ago.
He is survived by his widow and children: William, Lampoc, Calif.; Terrance, Navy Submarine Service, Groton, Conn.; Ronald, Keewatin, Minn.; Mrs. Harold (Patricia) Meyer, Marshall; and Daniel, Colleen and Colin at home. He was preceded in death by one son. He is also survived by one granddaughter and three brothers: John, Sioux City, Iowa; Raymond, LeMars, Iowa; and Orville, Regal, Minn.
