Bonnie Lou Junck, 76, of Hinton, died Friday, June 15, 2007 at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City.

Bonnie Lou Milton was born July 8, 1930, in Kingsley, the daughter of James and Elsie (Dawson) Milton. Bonnie was baptized at Union Township Presbyterian Church on April 1, 1934. She was raised on the family farm in Union Township and graduated from Union Consolidated High School. Following high school, Bonnie enrolled in nurses training at Methodist Hospital in Sioux City. She worked for Drs. George and Christiansen in Remsen for a few years.

Bonnie was united in marriage to Bernard Junck on Sept. 10, 1951, at the Union Township Presbyterian Church. The couple farmed in Lincoln Township until retirement in 2004.

Bonnie was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she had taught Sunday School and Bible School for several years. She sang in the choir and assisted with confirmation classes throughout the years. She also performed with the Sweet Adelines for several years.

Bonnie was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed baking for family and friends. Bonnie enjoyed tending to her garden and raising flowers. Her family was always a great source of pride. She loved when her grandchildren and in later years great-grandchildren would come to visit.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Bernard of Hinton; three daughters, Jeanene Kuiper and her husband Barry of Hawarden, Jolyn Getty and her husband Tim of Hinton, and Julie Lynott of Hawarden; seven grandchildren: Mike (Angie) Kuiper of Harrisburg, S.D., Erin (Shane) Colley of Chicago, Ill., Deanna (Shaun) Van Meeteren of Urbandale, Matt Kuiper of Sioux Falls, S.D., C.J. Lynott of Sioux City, Sheena (Royce) Van Roekel of Orange City and Elise Lynott of Hawarden; two great-grandchildren: Will and Emma Kuiper; a brother and sister-in-law, Vincent and Deloris Milton of Hinton; in-laws: MaryLou and Bob Mockler, Duane and Pat Junck, and Connie Junck, all of Kingsley; and several nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elsie (Dawson) Milton; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Vernon Calkin; mother and father-in-law: Fred and Hazel Junck; and a brother-in-law, LeRoy Junck.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. today (Monday) at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, with the Rev. David Kottlowski officiating. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitations with the family present was after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continued Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.

Pallbearers were Mike Kuiper, Matt Kuiper, C.J. Lynott, Royce Van Roekel, Shaun Van Meeteren, and Shane Colley. Honorary casketbearers were Angie Kuiper, Elise Lynott, Sheena Van Roekel, Deanna Van Meeteren, and Erin Colley.
