Diane Steinfeldt, 61, of Le Mars, died at her home unexpectedly on Saturday July 7, 2007.

The former Diane Kay Campbell was born Jan. 28, 1946, at Le Mars, the daughter of Richard and Donnabelle (Weinrich) Campbell. She grew up in Le Mars and graduated from Gehlen Catholic High School in 1964. Diane married Marlan Steinfeldt on Feb. 6, 1965, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars. They made their home in Le Mars and raised their family. For many years Diane had been employed with Harker's.

Diane was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society and Catholic Daughters of America.

She enjoyed cleaning in her spare time. Diane loved being with her family and friends, and attending her grandchildren's activities.

Survivors include her husband Marlan "Punk" Steinfeldt of Le Mars; four children: Phyllis Hartwig and her husband Rick of Spirit Lake, Cheryl "Cheri" Heissel and her husband Pat of Le Mars, Sharon Steinfadt of Sioux City, and Craig Steinfadt and his wife Dawn of Hayfield, Minn.; seven grandchildren: Trevor, Skyler and Shayna Hartwig, Cole and Megan Heissel, and Miranda and Landon Steinfadt; six siblings: Betty Donlin of Appleton, Wis., JoAnn and Al Miller of Independence, Mo., Jeanette and Don Peters of Benbrook, Texas, Henry and Kay Campbell, Barb and Rick Heffner and Mark and Beth Campbell, all of Le Mars; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Donabelle Campbell; a sister Doris Breshears; a brother-in-law Larry Donlin; and a nephew Corey Campbell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Kevin Richter presiding. A family burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars at a later date.

Visitation at St. Joseph's Church will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday, where there will be a combined rosary by the Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters at 4 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Wednesday morning at the Church.

The Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars is handling arrangements.
