Dempster Succumbs

William H. Dempster, 73, of Neligh died Monday at 9:30 a.m. at his home from a heart condition.

Mr. Dempster had been shoveling snow and had gone into the house and laid down to rest when he was stricken.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church here with the Rev. Lisle Mewmaw officiating.

Interment will be in the Laurel Hill cemetery.

William H. Dempster was born November 9, 1886 at LeMars*, Ia., to Mr. and Mrs. John Dempster.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Leo Manning of Lincoln and Mrs. Orville Brandsetter (sic--Orval Brandstetter) of Wayne; two sons, Donald of Gering and Dwight of Osmond; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; five sisters, and one brother.

Funeral services for William Dempster, 73, who left LeMars about 30 years ago and who since has resided at Neligh, Nebraska, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 31 at the Methodist Church at Neligh. Burial will be at Neligh.

Surviving are his wife, Edna; a daughter, Mrs Orville (sic--Orval) (Dorothy) Brandstetter of Wayne, Neb.; two sons, Donald of Gering, Neb.; and Dwight of Osmond, Nebr.; several grandchildren; four* sisters, Mrs. Charles Tucker and Mrs. Gregg Featherston, both of LeMars; Mrs. Kenneth Keist (sic--Kiest) of Warrenville, Ill., and Mrs. Elmer Featherston of Oak Park, Ill., and one brother, Henry Dempster of LeMars.

[*Note--Five sisters survived Wm; Elizabeth (Dempster) Smith Reeves is not mentioned.]
